NiD4OCEAN was represented at Healthy oceans and waters by 2030, the first official EU Mission Ocean and Waters event held in Norway. Project partner Juan Pardo presented the project, highlighting NiD4OCEAN’s work on innovative, nature-inclusive solutions for offshore renewables and their potential to support biodiversity and a sustainable energy transition.
Arne Myhrvold (Equinor) also participated in the final plenary panel discussion, which focused on how new knowledge and solutions from mission-aligned projects can be effectively adopted by stakeholders and the role of coordination in ensuring practical impact. Other panelists included representatives from research, industry, and public authorities.
The conference brought together researchers, businesses, municipalities, and policymakers to share knowledge and solutions from European projects under the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030. The programme included plenary sessions on the state of the Mission and its implementation in Norway, alongside parallel tracks covering citizen involvement, climate-neutral blue economy, and restoration and protection of water and oceans.
Participation in the event offered a valuable opportunity for NiD4OCEAN to engage with Norway’s emerging Mission Ocean community, exchange knowledge, and strengthen links between European research efforts and national and local initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring Europe’s oceans and waters by 2030.
