On Monday 19 May, Josep Lloret, researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) and NiD4OCEAN partner, introduced the NiD4OCEAN project to a local audience in Roses (Spain), during a community-focused event held at the Casal del Pescador de Roses, invited by the Associació Rodes, an association that fosters the study and literacy of local nature and culture.
The session, primarily organised to present the latest results from the BIOPAÍS project, provided a valuable platform to share knowledge about offshore wind farms and nature-inclusive designs (NiDs). Lloret took the opportunity to emphasise NiD4OCEAN’s mission to align offshore renewable development with marine biodiversity conservation.
The event gathered around fifty attendees and highlighted the importance of engaging local communities early in the energy transition. By sharing insights from both projects, the session contributed to raising awareness and fostering dialogue around sustainable offshore wind deployment in the Gulf of Roses and beyond.
