NiD4OCEAN partners participate in EU Ocean Days 2026

Room with presenters EU Ocean Days 2026.

This week, partners from NiD4OCEAN are taking part in the European Ocean Days 2026 and the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters Forum 2026, engaging with the wider ocean research and innovation community to exchange knowledge and follow the latest developments in European ocean policy and initiatives.

A week dedicated to Europe’s ocean priorities

The European Ocean Days is a week-long series of interconnected sessions focusing on key ocean-related topics. The event brings together industry leaders, startups, investors, policymakers, scientists, SMEs, representatives from fisheries and aquaculture, coastal communities, and civil society, including youth representatives.

Inspired by the European Ocean Pact, the third edition of the event encourages collaboration across sectors. Through consultations, panel discussions, workshops, and community events, participants explore current challenges, share knowledge, and discuss innovative solutions that support the sustainable use and protection of Europe’s ocean and waters.

Contributing to discussions on blue economy and water resilience

NiD4OCEAN partners are participating in several thematic sessions, including:

  • Sustainable Blue Economy for EU’s Blue Competitiveness: Policy Instruments and Success Stories, exploring how the EU can strengthen the blue economy while maintaining strong environmental responsibility.
  • Stakeholder Consultation for the European Water Resilience Research and Innovation Strategy, which gathers input on future research and innovation priorities supporting water resilience in Europe.

Following the progress of the Mission Ocean initiative

Partners are also attending the fourth Annual Forum of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters.” The forum takes stock of the Mission’s progress and major achievements while bringing together stakeholders involved in deploying solutions to protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems, boost coastal resilience, reduce pollution, and advance a climate-neutral and circular blue economy. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the future strategic direction of the Mission.

Participation in these events allows NiD4OCEAN partners to engage with the Mission Ocean community, stay up to date on emerging priorities, and strengthen collaboration across European ocean research and innovation initiatives.
