The NiD4OCEAN consortium met online on September 9, 2026 for its 6th Consortium Meeting. This followed an evaluation meeting held on September 4, with the project’s external reviewer and Project Officer to discuss the first periodic report.
The review meeting went smoothly, with both the reviewer and the Project Officer giving positive feedback on the project’s progress so far. A formal evaluation will follow in writing to the project coordinator in the coming weeks.
The consortium meeting itself opened with a round of brief updates from each work package, giving partners a chance to catch up on what has been achieved since the last gathering, which milestones and tasks are completed and what is coming next.
Two presentations offered a closer look at ongoing work. Santiago and Mahla, from WP2, explored how offshore wind development can be understood as a social-ecological system. Caryl, from WP5, shared the project’s recommendations towards standards for NiDs in offshore wind farms, seeking the consortium’s input and feedback.
Partners also revised the consortium’s list of expected project outputs and their timeline, deciding which ones would benefit from wider consortium or Scientific Advisory Board input.
With NiD4OCEAN now past its halfway point, the discussion was a good reminder of how closely the work packages depend on each other at this stage and how much of the project’s remaining work is about connecting those pieces to support nature-inclusive offshore renewable energy across European seas.
